KEEN 2020 Annual Report
1 To Our Partners The following pages reflect the work KEEN has accomplished during the 2019-20 academic year. The stories and data showcase the effort by faculty, administrators, staff, and students to embed an entrepreneurial mindset (EM) across undergraduate engineering education, and create significant value for all involved. This report reflects the more than 700 activities and cross-KEEN engagements reported on an annual survey by KEEN partners that have been in the Network for at least one full year. Together KEEN partners are instilling EM in undergraduate students across the United States, helping future engineers identify opportunities, understand impact, and create value – whether personal, economic, or societal – wherever they go. This year marks the final year the report will be published in this format. Starting with the 2020-21 academic year, annual survey information and stories will be shared online at EngineeringUnleashed.com. This will give us flexibility and speed for sharing relevant content throughout the year! Report Structure Throughout the report, you’ll see data and stories related to the key elements of KEEN’s work: engaging faculty, transforming curriculum, inspiring students, changing culture, and sharing across and beyond the Network. You will also see color-coding in every report section - these colors reflect the five key Network value propositions identified by Network leaders in 2016 - community, content, culture, funding, and thought leadership. Each section contains key elements: By the Numbers highlight KEEN’s reach. Spotlights dive deeper into Network activities. Special thanks to Edmond Dougherty for authoring all of the partner spotlights! Activity Highlights break down the number of partners engaged and total activities reported, by type.
