Zoom:

The ideal dimensions of a Zoom Virtual Background image file are 1920 (wide) by 1080 pixels (tall). The maximum file size for a Virtual Background is 5MB. JPG/JPEG, GIF, or 24-bit PNG are recommended. More information here. 

Upload your background:

• In a Zoom meeting click the ^ arrow next to Start/Stop Video.
• Click Choose a virtual background...
  • If prompted, click Download to download the package for virtual background without a green screen. 

Teams:

1. During a meeting, click the three dots ... on the meeting menu bar.
2. Choose Show background effects. The Background Settings window will appear on the right of your meeting.
3. Choose +Add New. Your new background choice will appear after the Microsoft backgrounds.

• Open up File Explorer and paste this into its address bar: %AppData%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Uploads 
• Add pictures to the folder.
• Look in “Show background effects” during your Teams meeting. Your uploads should appear after the ones provided by Microsoft.

Upload a background to a Mac:

• Open Finder and click Go in the menu bar. Hold the Option key to reveal the Library folder in the drop-down list.
• ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams/Backgrounds/Uploads
• Add pictures to the folder.
• Look in “Show background effects” during your Teams meeting. Your uploads should appear after the ones provided by Microsoft.
