A truss bridge project for Engineering Mechanics - Statics
Description
A main topic in Engineering Mechanics – Statics is the analysis of trusses, either by the method of joints or the method of sections. This project was created to allow students to design a truss bridge by either method that would serve a village of 201 people in Zambia, Africa. The village has been gifted a well by a charity organization, that will allow the villagers access to clean water for the first time. To access the well, villagers will need to cross a ditch - 20 feet across, 10 feet deep. The bridge is being constructed for this purpose.
