About the Workshop


The Making with AI (MAI) workshop will introduce you to methods of integrating AI into making activities through immersive, low fidelity mini-EM making. These low fidelity making activities centered around various disciplines of engineering will allow you to envision a novel EM-based making activities for your students. This workshop will also demonstrate how AI tools can help in reducing the additional load associated with developing making activities by creating assessment tools for hands-on modules.

  • When: June 16 - 19, 2025.
  • Where: Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, VA.
  • Who Should Attend: Faculty interested in integrating making and AI into their courses to promote students’ development of an EM.
  • Cost*: $3,500 per person.

*Registration cost includes workshop attendance, airfare, lodging, select meals, one year of coaching and consulting, and access to a library of workshop materials.


What To Expect From the Workshop


Everything you learn from the facilitation and coaching team and other participants can be immediately applied to your context and topics of interest. 

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Adapt a broad range of classroom Making activities to support your classroom modules.
  • Learn how to stimulate student curiosity and creativity with making activities.
  • Apply AI as a supportive technology in the areas of idea generation, brainstorming and activity assessment.
  • Identify ways to embed EM in the making activities.
  • Construct a plan for incorporating AI driven making in the curriculum.
