Conclusion Meaningful communication with the customer is key to instilling an entrepreneurial mindset in our course. The focus of the customer interaction moves from curiosity as the students meet their customers and identify opportunities for design, to connections as they try to translate what the customer needs into measurable design requirements and meaningful solutions, to creating value as final prototypes are built and tested directly with the customer. We have observed that these projects have significant impact on the students as they witness their designs creating value. Value, as it is defined not by the student or by us, but by real customers.
