About the Workshop


Curiosity lies at the heart of research for the academic entrepreneur! Entrepreneurially Minded Learning (EML) & Student Research (EMRe) will stimulate your thinking and intentionality regarding new venues for disciplinary research. EMRE will examine structures in which there are multiple beneficiaries and learning opportunities for stakeholders, including your students and institution.

  • When: June 16 - 19, 2025
  • Where: Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, VA 
  • Who Should Attend: Faculty conducting research with undergraduate research students.
  • Cost*: $3,500 per person.

*Registration cost includes workshop attendance, airfare, lodging, select meals, one year of coaching and consulting, and access to a library of workshop materials.


What To Expect From the Workshop


Everything you learn from the facilitation and coaching team and other participants can be immediately applied to your context and topics of interest. At the completion of this workshop and coaching experience, you will be able to:

  • Examine how an entrepreneurial mindset is vital to your own research activities.
  • Identify how directed research activities can be used to foster an entrepreneurial mindset for research students, or your own projects.
  • Design and test a variety of techniques for integrating disciplinary research in educational activities, both formally and informally, as well as curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular.
  • Examine how you might take advantage of your institution’s structures and programs.
